Jessica Lucas began 2013 with an ounce of sadness. She was a co-star in Cult on 19th February, the show was cancelled two weeks later. The 13 remaining episodes of the series were aired by CW later on in the year, but having a role in a show that was cancelled so early isn't an ideal situation. The good news was Jessica's professional career seemed to be improving by leaps. Jessica Lucas starred as Michael B. Jordan's American wife in That Awkward Time, which was released in the early part of in 2014. The problem is that she was involved in a relationship, and therefore clearly holds the advantage. Since it's a buddy film, the majority of the story is centered around the trio leading me however Lucas has her share of the screen in every scene she is involved in. In the past, she also owned the screen during the brief scenes that she appeared in in Paul W.S. Anderson period action-adventure film Pompeii. It was a small-screen film she quickly found herself together with Shenae Grimes, AnnaLynne McCord and Jessica Stroup in four seasons of the newly revamped 90210. She was cast as Riley Richmond, an elementary-school teacher in Melrose Place - a successful remake of a well-known 90s series.
